At this intersection between Rådhusgata and Kirkegata, four different architectural stylistic periods come together — four buildings with completely different styles, very typical of Kvadraturen.

This is one of the buildings remaining from the early days of the city of Christiania. Oslo was known as Christiania from 1624-1924. Stattholdergården was most likely built in 1640 by the coin master of the Akershus fortress, but has its name from the time it housed the Danish governor of Norway. Today you can visit the Michelin star restaurant Stattholdergården here.
